As soon as possible, determine which child you will observe and schedule at least two times to observe the child. The following guidelines apply:
- Do not observe your own child or a child you know.
- Observe a child in a grade between kindergarten and 5th grade.
- Observe the child in a school setting or in a setting where you can see the child doing different things.
Please also review the Guidelines for writing the Child Case Study report assignment so you are familiar with the observations that you will need to provide in your report. When you observe, you should record notes on your observations for inclusion in your final report.
